4. Cookie categories used by Velixa

Visitors may block these cookies through their browser. Doing so may prevent certain pages, forms or security functions from operating correctly.

Functional cookies support optional convenience and personalisation features that are not strictly necessary for the basic operation of the website.
They may be used to remember:
- optional display preferences;
- enhanced interface settings;
- optional integrations;
- previously selected non-essential features.
Functional cookies requiring consent are activated only after the visitor has enabled the Functional category.

Depending on the activated service, analytics data may include:

- date and time of visits;

Depending on the activated service, marketing data may include:
- online and device identifiers;
- campaign and advertisement identifiers;
- pages and functions used;

The inclusion of a provider in this Notice does not by itself mean that the provider's technology is currently active.
The Cookie Settings interface displays the active categories and the current cookie definitions applicable to the website.
Optional provider scripts and tags must not be loaded before the relevant consent has been obtained.
7. Managing cookie choices
7.1. Default settings
Necessary cookies are active by default where required for secure website operation.
Optional Functional, Analytics and Marketing categories are disabled by default.
7.2. Choices available to visitors
Where optional technologies are active, the cookie panel may allow the visitor to:
- accept all optional categories;
- reject all optional categories;
- enable or disable categories individually;
- save a customised selection;
- review further information about active cookies.
Optional categories shall not be pre-selected.
7.3. Changing or withdrawing a choice
The visitor may change or withdraw a cookie choice at any time through the Cookie Settings link available in the footer of the Velixa website.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
After withdrawal, Velixa stops loading technologies covered by the withdrawn consent as soon as technically possible.
Cookies already stored by an external provider may need to be deleted through the browser or device settings where they cannot be removed automatically by Velixa.
7.4. Consequences of rejecting optional cookies
Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent access to the basic public content and essential functions of the Velixa website.
Certain optional convenience, personalisation or embedded functions may remain unavailable where the visitor has not enabled the corresponding category.
8. Legal grounds
8.1. Necessary technologies
Necessary technologies may be used where storage or access is required:
- to transmit a communication;
- to provide a digital service expressly requested by the visitor;
- to protect forms and sessions;
- to maintain website and account security;
- to remember and respect cookie choices.
Where necessary technologies involve the processing of Personal Data, the processing may be based on the provision of the requested service, compliance with legal obligations or Velixa's legitimate interests in secure and reliable website operation, depending on the specific processing activity.
8.2. Optional technologies
Storage, access and related processing associated with optional Functional, Analytics and Marketing technologies are based on the visitor's prior consent where consent is required by applicable law.
Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
9. Recording cookie choices
Velixa may record information required to demonstrate and respect a visitor's cookie choice.
The recorded information may include:
- a randomly generated consent identifier;
- a randomly generated visitor identifier;
- the selected cookie categories;
- the language of the choice;
- the Cookie Notice version;
- the consent-text version;
- the date and time of the choice;
- a reference to a previous choice where applicable;
- the withdrawal or modification of consent.
The consent record is not intended to identify the visitor by name.
Additional technical data may be processed where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention or demonstrating compliance.
10. Duration and deletion of cookies
Cookies may be either:
- session cookies, which normally expire when the browser session ends; or
- persistent cookies, which remain until their stated expiry date or until deleted by the visitor.
The duration of each active cookie is displayed in the Cookie Settings interface or the current cookie list.
The Velixa cookie used to remember cookie choices is generally stored for 180 days.
When the choice expires, the website may request a new cookie selection.
A new choice may also be requested where:
- the Cookie Notice materially changes;
- the consent text changes;
- a new optional purpose or category is introduced;
- a material new provider is activated;
- the previous choice cannot be reliably retrieved.
11. External providers and international data transfers
Optional analytics and marketing providers may process data as processors, joint controllers or independent controllers, depending on the relevant service and processing activity.
Certain providers or their sub-processors may process data outside the European Economic Area.
Where Personal Data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, an appropriate transfer mechanism shall be used where required, including:
- an adequacy decision of the European Commission;
- the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses;
- binding corporate rules;
- another safeguard or transfer mechanism recognised by applicable data protection law.
Further information regarding recipients, international transfers and Data Subject rights is available in the Privacy Notice .
12. Third-party content and embedded services
Certain pages may include content or functionality provided by an external service, such as:
- videos;
- maps;
- social-media functions;
- appointment-booking tools;
- support or communication widgets;
- payment or authentication interfaces.
Where an embedded service requires optional cookies or external tracking, it shall not be activated before the visitor has enabled the applicable cookie category.
Velixa may display a placeholder until the visitor enables the required category.
13. Browser and device settings
Most browsers allow visitors to:
- view stored cookies;
- delete individual or all cookies;
- block cookies from particular websites;
- block third-party cookies;
- delete cookies when the browser is closed;
- receive a warning before a cookie is stored.
Browser settings operate separately from the Velixa Cookie Settings interface.
Blocking all cookies may prevent security, form, login or preference functions from operating correctly.
14. Changes to this Cookie Notice
Velixa may amend this Cookie Notice, particularly where:
- a new cookie or similar technology is introduced;
- an existing technology is removed;
- a purpose or legal basis changes;
- a new analytics or marketing provider is activated;
